Privacy
This Privacy Policy covers Soapbox Mobile Incorporated's ("Soapbox") treatment of personally identifiable information that Soapbox collects when you are on the Soapbox site, and when you use Soapbox Mobile's services. This policy also covers Soapbox Mobile's treatment of any personally identifiable information that Soapbox Mobile's business partners share with Soapbox. This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that Soapbox does not own or control, or to people that Soapbox does not employ or manage.
1. Information Collection
Soapbox collects personally identifiable information when you register for Soapbox services, when you use certain Soapbox products or services, when you visit Soapbox pages, and when you enter promotions or sweepstakes. Soapbox may also receive personally identifiable information from our business partners.
When you register with Soapbox, we may ask for certain information including, but not necessarily limited to, your first name, last name, time zone, zip/postal code, country, state, city, email, birth date, and gender. Once you register with Soapbox and sign in to our services, you are not anonymous to us. You may also be required to select a user ID and password that you will use to login to the Soapbox services. As your ID may not be able to be changed and may be visible to the public, for your protection, we recommend not using personal information that you do not want disclosed.
Also during registration, you may be requested to register your mobile phone, pager, or other device to receive text messages, notifications, and other services to your wireless device. If you select to register a wireless phone, pager, or other device you must provide your mobile network operator and your mobile phone number. You must also provide the validation code that Soapbox sends to your mobile phone, pager, or other device to ensure that the device you are registering does belong to you.
Some of the information from registration such as country, state, and city of residence, gender, age, and name may be automatically placed in your Profile. In addition, you can choose to relate more about your hobbies, interests, hometown, high school, college, and much more. The more information you provide, the potential for Soapbox to provide better services and benefits will increase.
Soapbox may also automatically receive and record information on our server logs from your browser including your IP address, Soapbox cookie information and the page you requested. Soapbox uses information for three general purposes: to customize the advertising and content you see, to fulfill your requests for certain products and services, and to contact you about specials and new products.
2. Information Sharing and Disclosure
Soapbox will not sell or rent your personally identifiable information to anyone other than as specifically noted herein. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Soapbox may sell and/or transfer your personally identifiable information to an affiliate and to any successor-in-interest as a result of a sale of any part of Soapbox Mobile's business or upon the merger, reorganization or consolidation of Soapbox with another entity on a basis that Soapbox is not the surviving entity. For the purposes of this paragraph, "affiliate" means any person directly, or indirectly through one or more intermediaries, that controls, is controlled by or is under common control with Soapbox. The term "control," as used in the immediately preceding sentence, shall mean with respect to any person, the possession, directly or indirectly, of the power, through the exercise of voting rights, contractual rights or otherwise, to direct or cause the direction of the management or policies of the controlled person. As used in this Privacy Policy, the term "person" includes any natural person, corporation, partnership, limited liability Soapbox Mobile, trust, unincorporated association or any other entity.
Soapbox will send personally identifiable information about you to other companies or people when:
We have your consent to share the information;
We need to send the information to companies who work on behalf of Soapbox to provide a product or service to you. (Unless we tell you differently, these companies do not have any right to use the personally identifiable information we provide to them beyond what is necessary to assist us.);
We respond to subpoenas, court orders or legal process; or
We find that your actions on our web sites violate the Soapbox Terms and Conditions, the Privacy Policy, or any of our usage guidelines for specific products or services.
