The Information Architect works closely with our internal clients to translate business rules and practices into functional requirements for web-based projects. Merging various disciplines such as UI Design, Development, Usability, Strategy, Systems Integration, and Information Science, you are responsible for executing the structure and user experience of the project.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design detailed and fully documented screen layouts and create wire frames (screen mock-ups) in order to provide a comprehensive blueprint for the creation of user-friendly web sites and web applications.
• Design clear, intuitive navigation for web sites or web applications. Create sitemaps and/or flow chart to document anticipated user navigation.
• Translate business needs into project requirements. Develop documents including the project Business Requirements, use cases and scenarios.
• Conduct Usability Reviews and Formal Usability Testing. (a plus)
• Defining user profiles including target audience needs and other motivating factors.
• Translating user profiles into concepts for compelling interactions and experiences.
• Representing a user experience perspective in use case elaboration, navigation models, and prototypes that demonstrate these concepts.
• Developing detailed information architectures and interaction designs that support marketing strategy, brand strategy, desired user behaviors.
• Participation in user research, concept testing, and usability testing.
• Promoting the use of a user-centric design process, internally and externally.

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years experience as a User Interface Designer, Information Architect, or similar experience
• Proficient to expert in:
  • Visio
  • Microsoft Office
  • Graphical Software or HTML
• Proven experience in documenting complex applications
• Strong user-centered design orientation
• Strong team collaboration and facilitation skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience developing interactive products
• Understanding of usability testing principals and practices; Experience translating testing results into UI design decision
